In Florianópolis there is a free municipal network of outdoor facilities, academias da saúde: outdoor exercise equipment on squares, promenades and at health clinics, more than fifty points on the island and on the mainland. The list is maintained by the municipal sports foundation, snapshot Oct 2026, and is given in full: Prainha and Praça Gov. Celso Ramos in Centro, Praça Santos Dumont in Trindade, Horto Florestal in Córrego Grande, Praça Bento Silvério in Lagoa, the square on Avenida das Gaivotas in Ingleses, Parque de Coqueiros on the mainland — and another fifty points with landmarks.
There is also the UFSC Sports Center (CDS) in Pantanal: pools, beach volleyball courts, footvolley and beach tennis. Private individuals cannot reserve: the centre accepts external bookings only from organisations. Sports programs for city residents are handled by the sports coordination office, (48) 3721-9925.

What is here and what is not here
Only free and public options are collected here: a municipal facility, a university centre, a park. Academias da saúde — south of the island
Landmarks are given as published by the sports foundation: street, square or nearby feature. Most points have no house numbers, and this is not an omission: the outdoor facility is tied to a square, not to an address.

UFSC Sports Center — what can be booked by external parties
Address: Rua Deputado Antônio Edu Vieira, Pantanal neighbourhood, Florianópolis, CEP 88040-900. Sports coordination — (48) 3721-9925, has WhatsApp, [email protected].
What the centre itself describes as available: pools (lanes 1–5 and 6–10 plus an adapted pool), courts for beach volleyball, footvolley and beach tennis, covered playing courts and an athletics field.
Key points for outsiders, according to the centre's FAQ section as of Sep 2026:
- Facilities. Reservation requests from the external community, without ties to the university, are accepted only from legal entities, institutions, foundations and official organisations. The centre does not reserve sports facilities for private individuals.
- Pool and athletics complex are allocated to the centre's teaching, research and extracurricular programs. Access from outside is possible only as a participant in such a program; there is no free entry.
Sports coordination is open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 07:00 to 19:00, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 07:00 to 16:00. Booking of premises for organisations is handled by the centre's administrative secretariat: (48) 3721-2437, [email protected], on weekdays from 08:00 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 17:00.
Florianópolis parks and where to call
There are three municipal parks on the island, managed by FLORAM, the municipal environmental foundation. The foundation does not publish addresses, but each park has its own phone — use it to check opening hours and closure in rain, and to request a permit for group activity:
