Outside the city, but close: Arcoplex at Shopping Itaguaçu and Cinépolis at Continente Park (both São José), Arcoplex at Shopping Via Catarina (Palhoça). For those living on the mainland they can be closer than the island ones.

In short: new releases — Iguatemi, Beiramar, Floripa Shopping; something outside the mainstream — Badesc, CIC, Cinema Mundo at UFSC and Teodora in Campeche.

Theaters and stages

Which stages are public and which are not

TAC and Teatro Governador Pedro Ivo belong to the state cultural foundation, the same owner as the museums MASC and MIS, see Museums by name — federal, state and what is where in Floripa, Rio and São Paulo (in Russian). This means predictable opening hours, discounts and a repertoire that does not depend on the box office.

Teatro da UFSC, Teatro Carmen Fossari and Espaço 1 (Ceart) are university stages, at UFSC and Udesc. Cine Teatro do Sesc Prainha and Teatro Sest/Senat belong to the sectoral systems Sesc and Sest/Senat.
